Preparing the Chips
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a mandoline or a sharp knife, slice the beets as thinly as possible, about 1/16 inch thick.
- In a large bowl, toss the beet slices with olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
- Arrange the beet slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not overlapping to ensure they crisp up nicely.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through, until the edges are crisp and the chips are dry.
- Remove from the oven and let the chips cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a serving bowl.
Notes
For added flavor, consider experimenting with different spices such as paprika or cayenne pepper. Ensure that the beet slices are uniform in thickness for even baking. Store any leftovers in an airtight container to maintain their crispiness.
