Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices of bread day-old bread works best
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar and maple syrup for serving

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, and melt some butter.
  4. Cook each side of the bread slice for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Serve your French toast warm, dusted with powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup.
