For the Chickpeas
  • 1 can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or any neutral oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika for a smoky flavor
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste for heat
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas with olive oil. Toss until the chickpeas are evenly coated.
  3. Add smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the chickpeas. Mix until all the chickpeas are well seasoned.
  4. Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the chickpeas are golden brown and crunchy.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These chickpeas can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. For added flavor, try experimenting with different spices such as cumin or chili powder. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice for a zesty finish!
