Ingredients
Method
Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and baking soda.
Cut in the Butter
- Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the cold cubed butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- It’s okay if there are small lumps of butter—they’ll create those delicious flaky layers.
Add the Cheese and Buttermilk
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Slowly pour in the cold buttermilk, stirring gently until the dough comes together.
- Be careful not to overmix—the dough should be slightly sticky and shaggy.
Shape the Biscuits
- Drop spoonfuls of dough (about 1/4 cup each) onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Leave a little space between each biscuit to allow for spreading.
Bake the Biscuits
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Prepare the Garlic Herb Butter Glaze
- While the biscuits are baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
- Stir in the garlic powder, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
Glaze the Biscuits
- As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic herb butter glaze.
- Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes/Advice:
- Additions/Subtractions:
- For even fluffier biscuits, use cold buttermilk and make sure your butter stays cold when mixing it in.
- Don’t overwork the dough—mix just until it comes together to avoid tough biscuits.
- You can use a biscuit cutter if you prefer perfectly round biscuits, but the drop method is quicker and just as tasty!
