Method

Preheat the Waffle Iron
  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Mix the Dry Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves (if using), and salt until well combined.
Mix the Wet Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the pumpkin purée, milk, eggs, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients
  1. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  2. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
Cook the Waffles
  1. Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter.
  2. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron (using the amount specified by your waffle maker), close the lid, and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, about 3-5 minutes depending on your waffle maker.
Serve
  1. Serve the Pumpkin Spice Waffles hot, topped with a drizzle of maple syrup, whipped cream, chopped pecans or walnuts, and a dusting of cinnamon. Enjoy!

Notes/Advice:

  • Additions/Subtractions:
    • You can adjust the spices to your liking—add more cinnamon or nutmeg for a stronger flavor, or reduce the amount for a milder taste.
    • If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk to thin it out to the desired consistency.
    • For a crunchier texture, you can add 1/4 cup of chopped nuts directly into the batter.
